Courtney Rizzo
Courtney Rizzo is proud to be a founding member of mirabai, a full circle experience having grown up singing in the Michigan State University Children’s Choir. An active chorister throughout her life, Courtney served as the board chair of Angeles Chorale in Los Angeles, where she had the opportunity to sing with the LA Phil and record studio vocals for Netflix and Disney. Now living in Washington, D.C., she sings with The Washington Chorus, which has included appearances with the Baltimore and National Symphony Orchestras. She also serves on the board of L’Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti (AVLM), a young artist program offering vocal coaching and Italian language study in Lucca, Italy.
Courtney began her career as an arts administrator and AGMA opera stage manager. She worked at over a dozen opera and theater companies across the country managing finances and operations in different capacities, including at LA Opera, Seattle Opera, San Francisco Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, and Disney Theatrical Group, as well as at programs focused on emerging talent like Santa Fe Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, and Aspen Music Festival & School. Now applying her skills to different industries, Courtney is currently the Director of Finance for Enterprise Risk at Capital One, and previously served as the Director of Finance at the White House. Courtney holds an MBA from New York University and a bachelor's degree in vocal music and business from Michigan State University.
